What is Mind Wars?

It is the world’s largest knowledge acceleration programme where school students are provided with a free platform to test and improve their knowledge on Curriculum, General Knowledge and Current Affairs. The icing on the cake is that they will get rewarded for their performance.

What do you mean by getting rewarded?

The programme leads to India’s largest school quiz contest and the prizes for that are huge! Apart from that, there are lots of special quizzes on the app that will give out prizes. Find out more below.

Who can participate in the programme?

Any school student studying in classes 4 to 10 , both inclusive.

What is the programme structure?

  1. All eligible students register on the Mind Wars platform on the Zee5 App.
  2. They practise on Mind Wars by taking various quizzes.
  3. All registered students are eligible to take the Mock Test as well as the Qualifier Test.
  4. The two best students (decided on the basis of their score in the online round) from a school will form a team and get shortlisted for selection round for the TV Show.
  5. The best teams from the online rounds will participate in the Mind Wars Game Show that will be telecast on the Zee Network.

Is it a team event?

In the online rounds, students have to play individually. After that, a team of two students is formed based on the scores of all participants from the same school. The school team comprises the top two students from the online qualifier round. Two students will be chosen out of every 100 participants from each school.

In which cities is the contest being held?

Students from across India are eligible to take part. That makes it the largest quiz programme to be ever held in India. All schools–anywhere in the country–are eligible to participate!

Is there a cap on the number of students who can participate from a particular school?

There is no cap on the number of students. Every student studying in class 6 through 10 can participate.

Why should I participate if I am not likely to represent my school in the TV Show?

The curriculum section is for every student. This will help you improve your grades in school. There are quizzes modelled on competitive exams, and current affairs that will keep you informed in the easiest and shortest way. Moreover, there are prizes for special daily and monthly quizzes, best performers across cities, classes, topics and so on. Find more details below.

How many students will qualify for the selection for the TV Show?

Two out of every 100 students from a school will qualify. So, if 500 students from a school register and play on the app, 10 students (or 5 teams) could qualify for the next level.

What if I don’t qualify?

Don’t worry, your journey doesn’t end with the Mind Wars Quiz Contest. The app and content bank are there to stay throughout the year. You should keep taking quizzes so that:

  1. You can prepare for next year’s contest
  2. You can take part in the special quizzes that we will upload from time to time - each of which has special prizes.
  3. We will upload timely quizzes to help you with your school exams and any other competitive exams and olympiads that you might want to participate in.
  4. Apart from the MCQ games, there will also be GK trivia in the form of factoids. Impressing your friends and family members with cool trivia will no longer be tough.

Where can I prepare for the contest?

You can prepare from the existing question bank on the Mind Wars platform. There are more than 15,000 questions, across the three buckets of Curriculum, General Knowledge and Current Affairs. All the questions will appear to you in a simple Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) format.

How will I know if I have qualified?

We will communicate the scores of all the students to the respective school’s principal or coordinating teacher. They will then inform the qualifying students.

What is the registration fee?

Participation in the programme is FREE.

What benefit will the students get from this programme?

  1. You can practise for your school tests by playing quizzes on Mind Wars. The curriculum content is focused on guidelines laid down by NCERT.
  2. You can enhance your general knowledge and current affairs knowledge by taking thousands of available questions. These quizzes will help you with all kinds of competitive exams and live quizzes.

Do I need a smartphone or laptop to participate in this event?

  1. Ideally you can participate in Mind Wars through the ZEE5 app, available on Google Play for Android and App Store for iOS.
  2. In case you do not have access to your parent’s smartphone you can also participate in Mind Wars through the website. You could access this on any computer- in the school computer lab, at home or on a tab or a phone.

How do I register for the contest?

  1. Install the ZEE5 App
  2. Click on the ‘Mind Wars’ icon on the homepage
  3. Use the school code and fill in the simple registration form. (A maximum of two participants can be registered on the same phone).

Is the School Code mandatory?

It is not mandatory for registration on Mind Wars, but we urge you to fill in your School Code at the earliest, as it is mandatory for participating in the Qualifier Round.

What are the subjects covered in the Curriculum Section?

You will find questions on chapters from books prescribed by NCERT (and SCERT in some states) for Social Studies and Science subjects from class 4 to 10. Apart from this, students will also learn about General Knowledge and Current Affairs, both curated for the target age group.

Can students take the quizzes in school computer labs?

Definitely. But regular practice is recommended, so that students can perform better in the qualifier rounds. And that can happen only when you take the quizzes at home as well.

If students do not have (convenient) use of a computer or phone device at home, can they still use the platform?

Of course. They can use the platform on computers in their school labs or elsewhere.

What about places/schools with poor internet connectivity?

Neither Zee5 nor the Mind Wars platform takes up much space on the phone. The app is light and easy to use. So, you can access the quizzes even if you have a weak internet connection.

I have four children. How can all of them use the app through a single phone?

One number or email id can support a maximum of two Mind Wars registrations. So you can use another phone, another SIM or another email id for more users. Remember that if you have two or more separate logins on the same phone, you (or your child) should choose the correct account and then play.

How to use child lock?

Go to the Zee5 menu after you login. Scroll down and click on ‘Parental Control’. A window will open up asking you to set the level of control and a passcode. Once you do that and save, you will be able to access regular Zee5 content only with the passcode.

Will the programme be televised?

Yes. The Mind Wars knowledge programme leads to a TV Game Show.

What are the prizes?

There are attractive prizes including gadgets, Mind Wars merchandise, certificates, and trophies. Every participant who has completed the online qualifier round will receive a e-Certificate of Participation.
